March Monthly

Ready to put your skills to the test? Want to earn fabulous exclusive prizes? Now you can, in Galaxy’s monthly tournament series!

Let’s break down the details about how these events are structured, their prizes, and how to qualify for an invite.

What are Monthly Tournaments?

Galaxy Monthlies are the first step in our official organized play program. They are progressive asynchronous events where Galaxy’s top players can prove their prowess and win prizes along the way. Scratch your competitive itch, plus all the scheduling flexibility our async mode affords.

The event’s strongest players will earn their place as Monthly Champions, along with an invite to the Seasonal Championship! We’ll release details for our larger organized play program down the road — for now, here’s how this Galaxy Monthly will work.

Prizes

What is a tournament without awesome prizes? We’re excited to present several brand-new cosmetics, in addition to some amazing new Captain alternate arts and that elusive Seasonal Invite!

Beautiful hand-drawn artwork is the heart and soul of Galaxy. Tournament competitors can earn new, exclusive artist-signed versions of their favorite cards!

This season's two Captain-card nameplate banners: one banner is more plainly styled, while the other is ornately decorated.

Winners of Day 1 and Day 2 receive specialty banners that can adorn ALL your captains, no matter who your favorite is!

Each Monthly features a new set of signed cards. The alternate-art Captains and banners are available throughout the season, so you'll have multiple chances to win those top prizes!

Prize Breakdown

Each reward is unlocked the first time you beat its round across all your runs (we'll explain runs in a bit). The deeper you go, the more loot you walk away with!

Prizes for each stage of the tournament as follows: Day One, Round 1 - alt-art Captain (Lil' Genie); Round 2 - artist-signed Common (Gingerbread House); Round 3 - signed Uncommon (Gentle Giant); Round 4 - signed Rare (Goodie Bag); Round 5 - Victory banner and two Day Two Invites; Day Two, participant - alt-art Captain (Indiana Clones); Round 1 - signed Epic (Ironcast Dragon); Round 2 - signed Legendary (Merlin); Round 3 - signed Captain (Faker, the Caker Baker); Round 4 - signed Secret Rare (Jack-o'lantern); Round 5 - Champion banner, alt-art Captain (The Candyman), and a Seasonal Invite.

Successfully reach each progressive round to unlock that tournament prize.

Those special few who are able to win it all will be crowned Monthly Champions and will be granted an invite to the Seasonal Championship! As mentioned before, we’ll release more details on that soon.™

Event Structure

Required finishes for each round in Day One and Day Two: Round 1 - 5th or higher; Round 2 - 4th or higher; Round 3 - 3rd or higher; Round 4 - 2nd or higher; Round 5 - 1st place. Finishing Day One rewards two Day Two Invites. Finish Day Two to be a champion!

Monthlies take place over two stages: Day One and Day Two. Games are played in runs of five progressive rounds. Each round has a minimum finish to move on, the run ends if you place below its requirement. The stakes get higher each round as better finishes are needed to advance!

Players may earn multiple Day One Invites, each granting another attempt at a Day One run (more info on how to earn them in a bit). Complete all five rounds to earn your invites for Day Two!

*Note: Once qualified, Day One is complete. You will receive 2 invites for completion of Day 1

On Day Two the gauntlet resets. You get two shot to make it as far as you can and earn your chance at glory!

Event Schedule

The March Monthly will take place March 20—22. Day One of this event starts on Friday, March 20th 12pm EST and runs throughout Saturday, March 21. During this window a special "Tournament Mode" will open in the app and you must complete your runs within this time. The game will track your progress and show details like time remaining for Day One.

Anyone who progresses to Day Two can play their runs starting at Midnight EST, Sunday, February 22.

Because Monthlies are asynchronous tournaments, you’ll be able play your games any time during the tournament windows. Whether you prefer to blast through your runs or take time to settle nerves between games, do whatever works best for you!

How To Qualify

Monthlies are open to all Legendary-ranked players from the previous month (i.e. you qualified for the Marchy Monthly in February).

These events are free to enter, and multiple Day One Invites can be earned:

Everyone who makes Legendary during the qualifying period (the previous month) will receive 2 Invites.
Receive an additional Invite at 100 Jewels earned in Legendary.
Receive a final Invite at 500 Jewels earned in Legendary.

Recapping from earlier, each Invite grants entry into a run for Day One of the tournament, giving you multiple chances to win!
